On July 24, 2005 Batista met with JBL at “The Great American Bash” for World Heavyweight Championship. Suddenly referee was knocked out and then Orlando Jordan tried to hit Batista with Steel Chair and Batista ripped chair from Orlando and hit over the JBL and Orlando heads meanwhile referee wakeup and after seeing chair in the Batista hands hitting JBL the referee disqualified the Batista. After official confirmation of JBL victory Batista decide to finish the job, he hit 11 times to JBL and Orlando on the back and head. Batista defeated HHH at “Backlash” and in a “Hell in a Cell” match at Vengeance. In Wrestlemania XXI Batista defeated former mentor HHH and next night he defeated World Heavyweight Champion Randy Orton and became the WWE World Heavyweight Champion.

On January 2006 Batista was forced to leave the World Heavyweight Championship due to the injury in the following match with Mark Henry. Later that night Kurt Angle crushed Henry from the final contestant to become World Heavyweight Champion. Batista went for his surgery on his arm at January 2006. On No Way Out February 2006 Batista made an appearance and announce to regain his title. On July 2006 at SmackDown Batista made his official return in Philadelphia. At Saturday Night Main Event Batista won his six man match teaming with Rey Mysterio and Lashley on King Booker, Finally and Henry. During this match Henry got injured and Mr. Kennedy replaced in place of Mark Henry. During this time Batista have to face both, Big Show
for ECW Heavyweight Championship and King Booker for his World Heavyweight Championship in SummerSlam and SmackDown. Batista won his all matches but not titles due to disqualifications. Batista is competing as a top contender for the world Heavyweight title with Booker on several occasions. Batista is looking that he would never letdown his title now for long time.
